| Welcome to Ocean Aura and thanks for coming here. My name is Anissa Reed and it has been a long time passion of mine to share what I know and love of this coast with others and to create products that connect people to environments, are uplifting and have a deeper meaning. I know this was hugely inspired during my days as a Dive Master and naturalist on a live aboard boat. We went all over the BC Coast. It's an amazing place ... pure magic I must say... and sharing it with others and watching their faces when they experience it for the first time, that is Joy and I am filled with gratitude to live here. So in additon to the sea glass jewelry and photocards I create, I also stand up for what I love and believe needs protecting. Inspired by the work of Alexandra Morton in the Broughton Archipelago I wanted to create a design that would get people talking about wild salmon more. It kept thinking and "Wild" salmon was my mantra as I brainstormed This came to me and I knew I found it. I used the salmon bones to spell the word "WILD" because salmon are the backbone of the BC Coast. Not only have they shaped culture and provided a way of life but they are also essence of what is magic on this coast. The salmon feed the whales, bears, eagles, wolves, forests, rivers and so much more. Ocean Aura is dedicated to celebrating and protecting wild salmon. |
